Funny Boy

Yesterday Tavius did the funniest thing! I was on the phone with my Mom and he was just going crazy and throwing a tantrum because he really wanted to talk on the phone to her. I handed him the phone for a minute, and he loved it. He actually talked this time. Anyways, after a minute I told him is was my turn and he took off running to the other room. I chased him in there and he tried handing me his play phone! It was so cute! Just the look on his face, him still holding my phone to his ear, and holding my old phone out to me saying "here, here, here"! It was seriously the cutest thing!

Although I did not get a picture of his adorable little face at the time, I thought you might enjoy seeing a picture taken a couple of months ago when we got our family pictures.

And now, because I feel like uploading more pictures, here are some pictures from when he was sick last month.

It is so sad when he is sick because he doesn't cry or anything. He just wants to lay on the couch or be held. So Sad.

1 Year Old!!!

Perhaps I should start further back, seeing as it has been two months since my last post, but I am just too excited to post about his birthday! We have a 1 year old!!! Can you believe it? I can't. Crazy.

His birthday was lots of fun, and he was in a good mood all day (he's had a lot of grouchy ones lately). Jadon had the day off so we all went to CiCi's Pizza and ate yummy food and played some arcade games. We even took pictures in the photo booth! Then we went to Toys R Us to get his birthday balloon and buy him a toy. He loved every minute of the day. On our way out for the day we stopped to check the mail and he had a birthday card from Great Grandma and Grandpa Walters, so on the way home we stopped by to see them. He had lots of fun with them.

We had a bbq for him on Saturday at our home which turned out really well. Jadon got a grill for his early Father's day present and tried it out for the party. We also got an outdoor swing which is awesome to have. Tavius always wants to go outside so it is nice to have something to do other than stand on the porch.

For Mother's day Jadon bought me 2 dozen roses and a beautiful figurine made by Willow Tree of a mother holding a baby that looks about Tave's size. Tavius loves my flowers. For days he would ask to hold one and I kept saying "no", but I eventually let him and he loved it. Then I found a trail of red rose petals from one room to the next and the were turning my carpet red where he crawled on them!
Jadon also bought me a bouquet of tulips (and a purple flower I don't know the name of) for Tave's birthday to congratulate me on having a one year old. He also bought me the new Winnie the Pooh movie the night before Tave's birthday. It is seriously the cutest movie ever! I have been wanting it for a while and now we watch it about 3 times a day! Tavius loves the music and for his birthday we bought him some little Winnie the Pooh figures that he loves.

His doctor appointment was the day after his birthday and he got his one year shots (so sad!) and we found out he needs to go to a Vision Specialist as well as a Geneticist, so we are waiting on those referrals. This kid has already been to a Physical Therapist and now we are adding two more specialist and he is barely a year! I am thinking he is going to be a handful. He did really well with his shots. The nurse made me hold his legs which was so sad, but he didn't cry for very long after, and he didn't get a fever or anything so that is good.

He weighs 18 lbs 10 oz and is 31 inches long. The doctor is concerned that he has gained almost no weight in the last 6 months (about 10 oz), so she has instructed me to feed him things like cottage cheese and Greek yogurt to fatten him up. I think he just has my fast metabolism, so I'm not worried. Although it would be easier to find clothes that fit him if he would gain a little weight. Everything that is long enough is soooo wide on him he looks like he drowning in clothes!

Today is apparently the day he decided to really start walking. All day he has been walking everywhere. Still crawling a little bit, but mostly walking, so that is exciting! He has always crawled kind of sideways, and he walks kind of sideways, but I asked the doctor about it and she said there was no fluid in his ears so she didn't think it was an inner ear problem, so my guess is it is from his slight Tortecollis (which is what he went to Physical Therapy for).

Okay I will stop talking now and let you enjoy the fun pictures!

This car freaked him out once it started moving!

A Super Long Post of Little Notes

Tavius and I went to Utah for my nephew's baptism and had so much fun playing with cousins! Unfortunately I am lame and forgot my camera...

Then we got home from our trip and had cousin time with family that was visiting from out of town. So much playing! Tavius loves playing with other kids. If there are lots of other kids he usually just sits and watches while they play. He also gets picked on a bit, but he handles it well and has learned to stand up for himself. It is so cute to see him playing with other kids!

We have been trying to convince him to walk. He walks along all of the furniture and kitchen cabinets. He stands up on boxes to look out of windows. He dances every time he hears music. He especially loves the theme song to The Office. He sits and reads books to himself. He loves playing the piano. He insists on eating whatever we eat. His favorite thing to say is "Uh Oh" when he doesn't like something (he's been getting in trouble a lot lately). And earlier this evening he took 3 steps on his own!!!!! First time ever!

I think you get the point. He is adorable.

My sister we stayed with in Utah has a cat, which Tave absolutely loved. He didn't so much like petting the cat, just getting it's attention and following it around. He is a fast learner, and within a couple of days of being there he started clicking his tongue for the cat. So cute!

The other morning I went in to get him and he was whistling. I don't think he realizes that he is, but he does it every once in a while now.

Jadon is so sweet. Last night for no reason he bought me roses and chocolates and Sun chips.

Oh my goodness, has anyone seen Downton Abbey? I LOVE IT!!!

I have started weeding our backyard so we can have it landscaped and ready to use by the summertime!!! My niece and nephew were nice enough to come help me weed for 2 1/2 hours one day over their spring break. Our yard is going to be awesome when it's finished!

Just some cute pictures of our handsome little man.

He would use this box to stand on to see out the window.

Handsome Little Boy

This picture is from a month ago. He had been constantly doing this cute "kissy-face" as we call it. We used to play a game using his hands and we would make silly faces with his face. This was always his favorite, and now he makes this face a lot while he plays! (Sometimes even upon request!)

Here he is wearing the glasses that go to Amandicus (Jadon's Build-a-Bear from when we were dating). This is his other favorite face to make as he goes about his day. (Seriously...his face looks like this more than anything else, eating his bottom lip. So cute!!!)

We got subs from Firehouse Subs last night and they gave Tavius a cute little plastic fireman hat. He loves wearing it and playing with it, and he looks so cute doing it!

This is our handsome little boy! I seriously tell Jadon at least 10 times each day how handsome our little boy is! Good thing he looks like his dad!

He has started making a lot more noises lately, and it is so fun to hear. We figured out, though, that he says "baba" for "daddy", even though he can say "dada". Also, he thinks (actually, he knows) that he is hilarious! He will just start laughing at things he does, or that we do, or even when nothing is happening. Everything is funny to him. (For those of you who have seen me do Turbo Jam, you should know that he laughs, too.)

When I go out for food, or to stores, I am constantly getting people offering to take him as payment instead! It is pretty entertaining, but I always assure them that I want to keep him and would rather just pay with money.

Apron

Okay, so my sister got married way back in June, and I had been working on this apron for her as a bridal shower gift. Unfortunately, between having a baby and trying to close on our house, it has been unfinished until tonight. I spent the last 4 1/2 hours finishing it, and I am extremely happy to say that it is done and beautiful! Also, it is the first ever project that I have used my dress form for (I got it for Christmas, so exciting!), which means I just HAD to take pictures and I just HAD to show them off.

It criss-crosses in the back and buttons to the waistband. Seems like a lot of work to put on, but it is an adorable oldies pattern if you ask me.

My dad would be very proud of that bow I tied. He was always tying our bows for us on Sundays before church (okay, fine, he also re-tied them during church a few times, seeing as we never sat still).

Now I can give it to her...at her baby shower. I don't think it'll fit her pregnant belly though, what with the buttoning it on and all...hmmm.
