Yet to come...

There will be a few posts yet to come that will be about my November. Unfortunately, my computer will not read my memory card from my camera so I can't upload any pictures or videos right now.
I've also been thinking a lot about the password situation. I would feel a lot better putting a password up, but it makes it kind of a pain to view because you'd have to login every time. I don't know if anyone would login to view it, and if not then there would be no point in having a blog still. So for now I will just not post anything I think might be too personal or make it easy to steal any identities.

Password

Hello everyone, I will be password protecting our blog soon. I am not sure if I have everyone's e-mail to send the password invite to, so if you would like to continue viewing our blog and am not sure I have your e-mail either then please either comment and leave your e-mail, or send me an e-mail. My e-mail can be found by clicking on my profile if you need it.

So Tired

He was just so tired, and trying so hard to stay awake and play. What with all the crawling he did today he spent most of the day tired or sleeping.

I love how he kept having to pull his head back up. He is just sooooo cute! (And yes, I did say crawling. He isn't even 6 months old yet! We have a very determined little boy!)

Halloween

Tigger and I went trick-or-treating this evening and got a pretty good stash of candy for a little guy. He was to hot and sweaty for the rest of his costume. He is even getting better about smiling for the camera. He smiled once I pulled it out. I love that is is almost a forced smile.

Here he is playing with his haul. He had so much fun chomping on all of the candies, especially the chocolate ones because they would get soft and chewy.

He is growing so fast and is such fun to play with. It is so easy to get him laughing like crazy. The other day he spit up and then put his face in it. When he rolled back over Jadon saw him looking like this...

Oh What A Cutie

When I put Tavius down for the night he was very stubborn. Even with the light off he was in there playing and talking for quite a while. When it finally quieted down I went in to check on him. What I found was quite hilarious, so I had to run and get Jadon to look as well.

Just Some Fun

Here are some fun pictures of Tavius. He is growing so big and loves moving, wiggling, scooting, talking...you name it! This morning he started doing this half crawl. He leans on the right side of his body and lifts the left side in the air and tries to fling it forward, and then does it with the other side. When he gets up on his knees and tries to crawl he ends up scooting backward and getting frustrated. It is very cute.

He loves the swings, although he only shows it by kicking his legs until I start swinging again.

This is currently his favorite sleeping position.

He is such a big talker. The other day I caught him on video talking to himself in his room. Usually he sees a camera and gets completely emotionless. He had been making this high pitched squeal and then laughing at himself. He did it over and over, but by the time I got the camera out he had stopped.

Yesterday Tavius and I went to a portrait studio and got pictures together, since I am in very few pictures with him. They turned out really good and I cannot wait for them to be printed. He refused to smile the whole time, but he is still super cute to look at!

He has been teething for a while, and I thought I had seen the worst of it, but no. The last few days have been very difficult. He has a hard time sleeping and cries in his sleep. I finally gave in and gave him Tylenol before bed last night because the teething gel and tablets don't last through the night. It worked! Well, that and sleeping on my bed made it possible to get a full night's sleep, something that I have missed the last couple of weeks.

Over all we are doing well and are happily adjusted to living in our own home!

The Good, The Bad, and The Sad

The Good: We started rice cereal today.
The Bad: I missed Tavius' appointment this morning.
The Sad: He got shots today.

I know, I know, that is very confusing, so let me explain...

I missed his appointment this morning at 8 and was freaking out because he has a case worker who called to make sure I was taking him to his appointments and said she would be calling the doctor's office to make sure I really did have an appointment scheduled for his check up and said she would be calling after the appointment to make sure I really took him. Hence, "the bad".

So I called the doctor's office at 8:30 and they had an opening at 10. I took him in and they gave him his 4 month vaccines. So sad. But he was so brave and only cried for about 5 minutes, but it is the saddest cry I have ever heard. He never cries like that except when getting his shots. He started feeling feverish about an hour to an hour and a half later so I have been keeping him on Tylenol. Poor little guy.

On an exciting note, we came home and gave him rice cereal at one of his feedings, which he seemed to like! He figured out pretty quickly that he needed to open his mouth when I got close with the spoon. He liked it as long as I was quick enough. I tried taking pictures but it really does take 2 hands to feed him effectively. Thank goodness I was smart enough to give him his own spoon to play with.

4 Month Stats:
Weight: 16 lbs 7 oz (he has doubled his birth weight, what a crazy thought!)
Length: 26 1/4 inches
Head Circumference: 42 centimeters

Percentiles for the above are:
55th, 97th, 75th

Funny side note. So I started noticing that all of his 3-6 month clothes (especially the footie jammies) are a little too short, so I looked at the labels and noticed that most of them say "up to 26 inches". He is 26 1/4 so I don't think I should be having such a difficult time.

Physical Therapy

This morning I took Tavius to his physical therapy evaluation. His doctor recommended it because she suspected he might have torticollis, which is where the something or other (SMT?) muscle in his neck is tight, so it is not as strong as the other side. He has an arm preference and he prefers rolling to one side over the other among other things.

The PT he saw agreed with the doctor and wants me to take him in for weekly visits. Only problem is that they are closing their Mesa office in 3 weeks and I can't drive to Phoenix once a week. She also gave me a paper that shows how to do different stretches with him to loosen it up. It is not really bad so she is hopeful that I can do most of it at home.

She recommended not putting him in a highchair, bumbo, or his jumpy toy because being in an upright sitting position can make it worse. She explained that gravity makes his tendency to tip his head to one side even worse. So we are back to the basics; laying on a blanket to play. The trick is to keep him entertained playing on a blanket.

His development is really great though. He rolls well (and a lot today all of a sudden), his neck muscles are getting really strong, he has excellent hand-eye coordination. Next week is his 4 month check-up and shots so we will see what his doctor thinks about giving him rice cereal.

Super Cute Photo Shoot Pics!!!

Thank you Callie for these super adorable pictures of my baby!

I think he has my face shape in this one!

What can I say? Cutest baby boy EVER!!!

Sitting and Rolling

Hooray for the Bumbo! He absolutely LOVES it! I had a feeling he would. I was lucky and caught a picture of him laughing. Usually he gets a straight face once he sees a camera. Here is my cutie patootie this morning. This is totally my new background for the computer!

Poor little guy was so sick all weekend and today was the first day he was really cheerful. There was no unnecessary crying. He did however go through more than 2 outfits before dinner because of how much he was spitting up. I am just glad he is my happy boy again and puts himself to sleep most of the time. And now that he has a bumbo he keeps himself pretty entertained! He loves his little ball that sings and rolls around on his own. Tonight he even rolled over from belly to back for the first time without any help! He usually gets stuck on his arm. He is growing up so fast and I am loving every minute of it (except for all of the crying this last weekend)!

Cute Little Boys

I just got home from the doctor and this is what I found...

my cute little boys!

Sleep!

I am the proud mother of an amazing baby boy who sleeps 8 to 12 hours at night! For a whole week now we have had such a good schedule and routine each day. He wakes up between 9 and 9:30, eats (7 oz. now!), plays until 10:30 then takes a nap until about 2, eats, plays, sleeps for an hour or so, eats, plays, sleeps for up to an hour, eats, plays, has dad time, then goes to sleep between 10 and midnight! He doesn't take many naps, or very long ones (only the first nap is long because I let him take a nap on my bed with me, which he loves), but he is so much fun to spend all that time with.

This morning I was not going to take a nap, so I layed him in his bed thinking he would fall asleep on his own like he usually does, but no. He knew that it was nap time with mom, so he cried until Jadon brought in to our bed, and fell right to sleep as soon as I held his hand. He likes his schedules and doesn't like when they change.

Two mornings ago I woke up to the weirdest noise over the monitor, only to discover that it was Tavius crying, but he had lost his voice! It is such a sad sound! He still hasn't gotten it back, so he doesn't cry or talk if he can help it. I did call his doctor yesterday to see what she thought I should do and she recommended a humidifier. I had one going in his room last night which seemed to help. His voice wasn't as bad this morning, but it got worse again from not spending the rest of the day in his room with it going.

We are blessing him on August 14th, which is two days before his 3 month birthday. I'm considering making a cake! My mom is making him an adorable little blessing outfit and Jadon's mom crocheted a beautiful blanket for the occassion. We are so excited for family and friends to come out and see our little bundle of joy!

Whoops! Sad little squeaky crying in the background! That is my cue to go!

Tummy Time

So we bought this awesome tummy time toy hoping that Tavius would start enjoying tummy time and it works! Sort of. He stays happier for a little bit longer than just being on the floor, or with a rolled up blanket under his chest. It is cute because when he moves or uses his arms or legs it makes him spin. He usually only spins on accident because he is frustrated.

Aww. Isn't he cute?

At his 2 month appointment his doctor said he is the size of an average 4 month old. She also said he is a 4 month old developmentally as well, except for his neck control which is at a 2 month old. And he is teething, although it will probably be a couple of months before he actually gets a tooth.

All in all he is doing great and loves our new house! He loves to play in his room and look at his blue walls! He is just too cute!

2 Months Old

Why is it that pregnancy seemed to last forever, and these last two months have just flown by? I would rather it was the other way around.

My little man is getting so BIG! He is very talkative these days and is usually so happy as well, now that we've found the right kind of formula for him. The only downside is that he is a morning person and I definitely am not! He wakes up to eat sometime between 4 and 6 usually and is just so cheerful and so wide awake. But every once in a while if I lay him in bed next to me after he eats he will go back to sleep.

A few mornings ago I woke up to him at 5 a.m. He was just in his crib cooing and laughing, at what I have no idea, but it was adorable. After about 30 minutes of that I couldn't fall back asleep so I got up and played with him until he was ready to eat.

He looks more and more like his daddy every day. My brother came into town this week and saw Tavius for the first time. When he was holding Tave he turned to me and said, "are you sure he's your son? He doesn't look anything like you." Yes, he is my son. He may not have inherited any of my genes, but I am definitely the one who grew him.

He is such a happy baby. He finally likes to play with the toys on his toy bar and he still loves trying to eat his giraffe. It is so cute to see him becoming a little person.

Sorry the quality isn't great, I took this video on my phone, but here is a cute video of him talking.

Funny Funny Boy

So Jadon thinks he is hilarious, and he really actually is. I propped Tavius up in the recliner while he was asleep and this is what Jadon did.

And then yesterday I'm taking a nap and when I wake up I am holding Tave's giraffe, which really confused me until I was looking through the pictures on the camera later...

Oh how I love him!

Cute Story

A couple of nights ago I was up feeding Tave at about 2 a.m. and of course was dead tired and trying to stay awake enough to keep singing him primary songs. Well, I realized that he had stopped eating so I looked down at him and saw he was just smiling up at me. When I smiled back at him he laughed (not for the first time, but always melts my heart). So I pulled the bottle out of his mouth and he just started laughing so hard! It was the cutest thing! He had this look like he was nice and full and so content (Jadon calls it his "drunk" look). All during that day he was just so cheerful and pleasant and awake. He smiled whenever I would talk to him and even when I'd tickle him, which he usually hates. We couldn't get him to laugh, but I'm okay with that so long as I can keep making him smile!

Update

Well, my handsome little boy now tries to stay awake for most of the day, but I think he is bored because he gets really fussy sometimes. At least it's during the day and not at night time. He doesn't like his swing very much anymore, and he wants to be held 24/7. Sometimes he won't fall asleep unless I am laying next to him. It's my own fault though. I had him sleep by me for the first couple of weeks and he hasn't slept as well since I stopped having him lay by me every night.

This is him in his handsome little church outfit. I also have a green bow-tie my sister-in-law made for him. Isn't he handsome?

And this picture is just too cute not to put up.

You can really see all of his features well in this picture I think.

Okay, moving on...

We have still not closed on our house yet. We will be closing at some point this week though. There was a huge mess with the appliances getting stolen, and then switching title companies, so we haven't been able to close yet, but our apartment is basically all packed, just needs to be cleaned. Volunteers are welcome!

I cannot wait to move into our house and have our own space and to be able to paint (don't worry Jadon, I mean at some point in the future), and decorate, arrange and rearrange until we find our favorite setup, have a backyard for little Tave, look for a kitchen table and stools for the counter...the list goes on and on and on.

I am so happy that we are able to buy a house so young and so early in our marriage. It truly is a blessing. It is so perfect for our needs and I am so grateful for all of Jadon's hard work and extra hours for making it possible for us to have this opportunity.

The Post You've All Been Waiting For

Well, here he is folks, the cutest baby in the world! (And no, I am not biased :)!) He was born Monday May 16, 2011 at 2:58 p.m. weighing in at 7 lbs 15.8 oz. and measuring 20" long!

He is so handsome, just like his daddy! Everyone, starting with the nurses right after he was born, said that he looks just like Jadon. Neither of us could really see it though until I took this picture...

He definitely has Jadon's nose and chin and general face shape! So cute!

I think he is just absolutely adorable! This is him in his swing. He loves to put his hands up by his face for some odd reason.

The doctor asked me, as I was pushing, how much I thought he would weigh. I told her my guess was 7 lbs. 10 oz. and she and all of the nurses in the room laughed. They said there was no way a baby that big was coming out of me, especially because of how small I'd looked. They were all shocked at how big he was when they weighed him! The doctor thought he'd be around 6 1/2 lbs!

The delivery went well and mother and baby are doing really well! Daddy on the other hand could use some sleep...

Friday, May 13

Well, this is it...hopefully

Today is my very last doctor appointment before this baby comes...hopefully. It is the last appointment before my due date at least. I am beginning to think this baby is playing a trick on us. He keeps making me think he's coming and then changes his mind at the last minute. Tisk tisk little boy. Hopefully I get some good news at my visit today, and hopefully my next post will start with a picture of our little guy.

I am not nervous about having him, impatient is more like it. I am more nervous about the after he is born part. I want Jadon to hold him first because I'm afraid I'll drop him from being so exhausted. I want him to stay in our room the entire time. I am terrified of germs getting him. I am worried the hospital will give me grief about not getting his hearing tested (what's the point? We'll find out soon enough anyways). I don't want them to offer him a pacifier in the hospital. Basically I have a lot of opinions and I am nervous I won't have the energy to fight for them.

Really I am not that worried about it. Know why? Because I have the World's Best Husband!!! He is so sweet and caring and he does whatever it takes to make me happy and unstressed. This week for example I was having a very hard time because the doctor was sure I'd have the baby last weekend, so what does Jadon do? Devotes all of his spare time finding ways to cheer me up. He bought me Tangled! He made me brownies! He was always checking up on me from work. He let me cry my heart out as often as I needed (which was a LOT, and usually in the middle of the night).

I couldn't have asked for a better husband. I couldn't have even dreamed of a husband nearly as good as Jadon is. Together we'll get through this, even if I don't get good news today...

Good News!

Jadon Justify Fulland I put an offer in on a house and it was ACCEPTED!!! We are very thrilled about this. It was the second house we looked at and we knew that it was the house for us! It has the most beautiful kitchen, and the layout of the house is perfect for us. We cannot wait to close and move in! Unfortunately we will not be moving in before Tavius is born. We are expected to close sometime between the end of May to June 15th at the latest.

Once we do move in I will definitely be posting pictures of the house...and of course of my boys! In the meantime though if you would like to see the pictures online I would be happy to send you the link, just let me know either by phone, text, e-mail, or commenting below.

Other than that life is going pretty okay right now. I am trying something new and different called not complaining (it is still a work in progress) so I will not be mentioning how I've been feeling lately, other than happy about the house and that Jadon has such a good job.

This week is my little sister's Bridal Shower that I am putting together with the help of soooo many people! Thank you everyone! I can't wait. It is going to be really nice thanks to everyone's help.

My Honey Bear

I miss my honey bear very much. He is camping with his dad and brothers this weekend and it is good that he is having fun, but sad because we are apart. I do not like to be apart from him, especially for so many days. I probably won't see him until Monday night. I am spending the weekend at my parents' house so I am not home alone. It has been fun and all, and very busy and eventful, but I am missing my honey bear like crazy.

Unfortunately I get very emotional quite a lot. It just makes me more sad. But he is very sweet to me and calls frequently to check up on me and to tell me he loves me! Good thing he is going camping this weekend 'cause it's probably the last chance he'll have for quite a while to do something like this. And I'm sure it is a nice break from taking care of me 24/7 (although he always tells me that he doesn't need a break from me).

I cannot wait for him to come home!!!

6 Weeks and Counting

This is it...the home stretch. We've made it this far and there is not much to do but wait at this point. We are so prepared and on top of things. We have reached the point where if Tavius was born today he would be healthy and not have to stay in the hospital more than a couple of days (so long as there are no unforseen problems). I am so anxious to have this baby already that I am pretty sure it is going to make me insane. It seems as though I am just getting more and more exhausted each day. I take that as a good sign though. It makes me think I am that much closer to having the baby and being able to hold him!

I must admit, for as much as it hurts when Tavius moves around so much, it is sometimes pretty cool to sit and watch my belly ripple and move. I get the feeling he is going to be one very energetic kid!

Krazy Craving

Okay I want a Krazy Sub.

Right now.

Desperately.

I don't know if I'll make it without one...

*Sigh*

Now what?

Baby Shower

Okay so I apologize in advance for my lack of memory. I might sometimes forget things (like my camera) which would make my posts more enjoyable. So once again I apologize for the no pictures.

The baby shower that Krissa threw for me last Saturday was AMAZING! Everything was great; the food, the decorations, the games, and the people (although I'm not sure I can give Krissa credit for making the people great!). I had such a blast and it was so wonderful to see so many of our loved ones.

I appreciate everyone who pitched in, and who came to show their love and support and just have an awesome time...which is what we did...so anyone who wasn't able to make it really missed out on a lot. Also, I thank everyone for their wonderful gifts which will make my life soooooo much easier! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Krissa made an adorable wreath for the front door out of diapers, and a diaper cake that had a Mario topper made by Mom-Walters. It was so adorable and I cannot wait for Tavius to see it!

I really hope that he comes out looking like a Tavius because we got cute little outfits with "T" on them. It would be a little awkward if we changed his name at the last minute!

I would like to conclude by saying thank you Krissa for doing such a wonderful job and giving me an amazing baby shower!

Oh Dear

It just hit me today as I was sitting at the computer that I have less than 10 weeks left of growing this baby. Holy cow! I will be full term in about 5 1/2 weeks and I'm due in 9 1/2 weeks. This is getting very real very quickly. I'm okay with that though. I keep telling Jadon that if I go into labor right now I'd be okay with it because I feel ready to have this baby. I don't think Tavius is ready...or Jadon!

Jadon has been so sweet taking care of me all week. I have been very sick...again. It is the same thing I had in January that I ended up in the hospital with. This time I did not go to the hospital though...thank goodness! I was very worried that I would not be well in time for my baby shower on Saturday but I am more optimistic now because I woke up feeling quite a bit better today.
I also feel terrible because once again Jadon has time off from work and is spending it taking care of me. I am trying very hard to convince him that I don't get sick on purpose.

The good news is that my mom will be coming home very soon! I have had a difficult time with her being gone. Nightmares of going into labor and her not getting here in time to help me. I will be very relieved when she gets home. I also keep having nightmares that I can't get a hold of Jadon at his new job and I end up having the baby without him knowing I went into labor. I know that is not realistic though. My labor is not going to be quick enough for him to not know about it. I expect that it will be longer than one work shift. I am happy to be wrong about how long it will be though!

Ultrasound Pictures

Here are some much awaited pictures of our baby boy. He is very adorable in my opinion! This first one is him with his top lip sticking WAY out! The ultrasound tech kept pointing it out to me and I think it is absolutely the cutest thing!

And here is one of him not sticking his lip out. He kind of has a no-chin thing going on, which I am told is a Walters thing. He also has long feet, which is a Bond trait that I hoped he would get. I have a picture of that too but I didn't post it.

The quality isn't the greatest but you can still tell how cute he is! I absolutely cannot wait to see him in person. I felt him have the hiccups for the first time just a few days ago. He has them right now and it is the funniest feeling! Oh so cute!

Where Has The Time Gone?

I am sitting here reading about my baby's development and I can't help but ask myself where the time has gone. Tomorrow marks my third trimester, which seems crazy to me. It feels like just yesterday I was sick in bed losing weight and wishing I was closer to having the baby and feeling well. Now here I am and I can't help but wish I had a little more time to get everything ready. I know I've had six months to prepare for this, but I've spent most of those six months sick.

I have been getting all of the baby things together and organized, as well as getting rid of stuff I don't need or will never use, trying to make space for all of the baby things. I am so grateful for all of the help I've received and for all of the things people are giving and lending to me. Whenever people offer to give or lend me things it feels like a huge burden is being lifted from my shoulders. One less thing to worry about. Sometimes they are even things that I hadn't thought to worry about.

It is a little bit funny to think I am six months pregnant and Jadon and I are seven months married. We just celebrated our seven month anniversary. It is the only one we have remembered to celebrate and it was the perfect one to celebrate because it was a year ago, almost to the day, that he proposed. Just remembering how special and happy he made me feel that day makes me happy. He is always so thoughtful and caring and patient and understanding, even when he doesn't understand, he acknowledges that he doesn't understand and does whatever he can to makes things easier for me. I am very lucky that he picked me. And I'm grateful that we will be having a son, who I hope to raise to be just like his daddy!

One of the things I love about Jadon is that even if he is already in bed he will get up in the middle of the night and run to the store for me if I really want something! Or he will show up with something that he thought I might like...he is always pretty good at figuring out what I want, even when I don't know what I want. Poor guy, he has put up with a lot.

Pregnant Pics

Okey-dokey I finally have a good pregnant picture from about a week ago. This is me at 25 weeks and 6 days. Tavius was sitting up so high that it looked like I was just hiding a ball under my dress! I thought it was pretty silly.

I went to Utah this past week and saw my family that lives up there. One of my sisters up there threw a baby shower for me once she knew I was coming. It was a lot of fun and it was great to see people I haven't seen in such a long time.

Although my trip was good, I was extremely glad to get home last night. I missed seeing Jadon every day. I am grateful that I lasted for the road trip there and back without any serious problems...mostly. The trip there was pretty hard but I made it!

Tavius is growing so fast. It is fun to feel him kicking sometimes...other times it is just flat-out painful! But it always makes me smile when he kicks so hard that my whole stomach jiggles! Last night he kicked so hard over and over again and it was making my whole body move. I couldn't help but laugh. I don't know what I'm gonna do if he gets any stronger. They say that I will not feel him moving so much as he gets bigger because he won't have as much space to move around. So far I have only felt more movement and not less. This little boy can't seem to stay comfy in the same spot for more than a half hour or so. He is also not a morning person. My next ultrasound is in a week and it's in the morning and I just hope we'll be able to get a good profile picture this time. Last time we didn't get one 'cause it was morning and he wouldn't move. He is still just as stubborn. He likes to sleep until around 10:30 a.m.

Sick Sick Sick

Jadon came home from work on Wednesday feeling a little bit sick. Within an hour I was feeling sick as well. Unfortunately, things only went downhill. Neither of us got over it, we both got much worse. Jadon had a fever and chills that night. I was lucky enough not to feel too rotten until the next morning.

Thursday was awful. Neither of us was well enough to take care of the other or ourselves. Our fevers kept peaking and then disappearing. We are very grateful for family who came and helped out; we couldn't have done it without you. Jadon wanted me to go to the doctor on Thursday but I wanted to wait and see if I go any better. I should've listened to him.

Friday morning my doctor's office told me to go to the hospital, so for the third time in 7 months I went to the hospital (I wouldn't have if it was only for my sake, but Tavius hadn't been moving since I got sick, and he is a VERY active baby). My mom drove me because Jadon was way too sick to get out of bed. So at 11:20 a.m. the ER sent me straight up to Labor and Delivery who got me right into a room. I was hooked up to so many machines it was ridiculous. They had a machine hooked up to me to track my contractions, which were pretty frequent becuase I was so dehydrated. Thank goodness for IVs. Tavius hated that machine because it was strapped around my belly. He was too stubborn to just move away from it, nope, he had to sit right under it and kick and kick and kick, probably hoping it would move! (At least he finaly moved.)

They eventually gave me antibiotics (at 6 p.m.) and decided that I could go home if I had someone there who could take care of me. No way could Jadon take care of me being so sick himself, so my parents came up with a good plan. I stayed at their place with my dad taking care of me Saturday (his day off). I felt so guilty being gone, I just wanted to be able to take care of Jadon.

I also spent Saturday night at my parents. I am feeling a lot better than I was, but I didn't want to go home and try to get stuff done around the house, making myself sicker, and Jadon had to work today, so I would've been home alone. The entire time I was at home sick I was going crazy because I desperately wanted to vacuum! I am definitely nesting.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for your help and your prayers, and love and support. This has been a very difficult pregnancy for me, Jadon and Tavius (and many of you who have had to...shall we say babysit...me while Jadon was at work!). We couldn't have made it this far without all of your help. We made it past the halfway mark, now only 16 weeks to go!

The Zoo

This last Monday I went to the zoo with my sister-in-law and her kids. It was tons of fun but I forgot to break out my camera until just before we left, so the only animal I got pictures of was the flamingos (unless her kids count as monkeys!). The flamingos were the only animal I requested to see that they actually had there. My favorite joke is about flamingos, hence my desire to see them. Unfortunately, I usually tell the joke wrong the first time, which makes it not very funny when I finally say it the right way.

The joke, the correct way: Why do flamingos lift up one foot? Because if they lifted up both they'd fall over!

The joke, Amanda's way: Why do flamingos stand on one foot? Because if they stood on both they'd fall over!

I think you see what I mean. Interesting fact though, there was a sign that told why they really do lift up one foot. It is to keep their legs warm. Who knew?

I finally went down to the Social Security Administration building and changed my name yesterday. I am now officially Amanda Shaylee Walters. I am the first married girl in my family to not keep Bond because I already had a middle name. Without Bond in my name I'm not as funny as I used to be (I think everyone who knows the Bond family knows we are hilarious, without the name I'm afraid the funny gene disappeared). I saw it coming, but it was still a sad discovery. Last night after I picked Jadon up I was my usual self making jokes out of thin air, but I was only able to make him laugh once. Ever since then all of my jokes have been lame.

Hopefully it's not a permanent thing. I wouldn't know how to live without thinking I'm hilarious!

Life Is Exhausting

I forgot how exhausting going to work was. I already have a full time job growing a baby, and now I have a part time job at a law firm. Don't get me wrong, I love working and feeling that sense of accomplishment, it is just making me so exhausted that I'm sick...and it's only been a week! It is nice to get out of the house though. The days that I work are extremely long because they usually include driving Jadon to work before I go, and picking him up once I'm off. That is 2 hours of drive time, a 1/2 hour lunch break, and about 5 hours of work. EXHAUSTING! It makes me think that having a screaming baby will be simple! Compared to this it might be. I know I'll get sick of being at home so much though. I need to just enjoy things as they are rather than always wishing they were different, because once they are different I miss what I am used to.

After picking Jadon up last night I was so exhausted I was sobbing uncontrollably on the drive home. Half of the reason was I just didn't want to go home (not sure why). So Jadon, being the kind loving husband he is, gave me a million options of what we could do for date night. We ended up seeing Life As We Know It at the dollar theater. It was pretty decent. Not as good as it looked, but still good.

Jadon is so amazing and sweet to me all the time. We got home early and I fell asleep a couple hours earlier than usual. To help me fall asleep he often rubs my back for me. He also makes sure that I'm fed and won't wake up starving. He makes the most amazing chicken! Yummy! It is actually on the menu at our house almost every night because it is the only healthy thing that I will usually eat. (Except for when I crave salad or corn!)
