Funny Funny Boy

So Jadon thinks he is hilarious, and he really actually is. I propped Tavius up in the recliner while he was asleep and this is what Jadon did.

And then yesterday I'm taking a nap and when I wake up I am holding Tave's giraffe, which really confused me until I was looking through the pictures on the camera later...

Oh how I love him!

Cute Story

A couple of nights ago I was up feeding Tave at about 2 a.m. and of course was dead tired and trying to stay awake enough to keep singing him primary songs. Well, I realized that he had stopped eating so I looked down at him and saw he was just smiling up at me. When I smiled back at him he laughed (not for the first time, but always melts my heart). So I pulled the bottle out of his mouth and he just started laughing so hard! It was the cutest thing! He had this look like he was nice and full and so content (Jadon calls it his "drunk" look). All during that day he was just so cheerful and pleasant and awake. He smiled whenever I would talk to him and even when I'd tickle him, which he usually hates. We couldn't get him to laugh, but I'm okay with that so long as I can keep making him smile!

Update

Well, my handsome little boy now tries to stay awake for most of the day, but I think he is bored because he gets really fussy sometimes. At least it's during the day and not at night time. He doesn't like his swing very much anymore, and he wants to be held 24/7. Sometimes he won't fall asleep unless I am laying next to him. It's my own fault though. I had him sleep by me for the first couple of weeks and he hasn't slept as well since I stopped having him lay by me every night.

This is him in his handsome little church outfit. I also have a green bow-tie my sister-in-law made for him. Isn't he handsome?

And this picture is just too cute not to put up.

You can really see all of his features well in this picture I think.

Okay, moving on...

We have still not closed on our house yet. We will be closing at some point this week though. There was a huge mess with the appliances getting stolen, and then switching title companies, so we haven't been able to close yet, but our apartment is basically all packed, just needs to be cleaned. Volunteers are welcome!

I cannot wait to move into our house and have our own space and to be able to paint (don't worry Jadon, I mean at some point in the future), and decorate, arrange and rearrange until we find our favorite setup, have a backyard for little Tave, look for a kitchen table and stools for the counter...the list goes on and on and on.

I am so happy that we are able to buy a house so young and so early in our marriage. It truly is a blessing. It is so perfect for our needs and I am so grateful for all of Jadon's hard work and extra hours for making it possible for us to have this opportunity.

The Post You've All Been Waiting For

Well, here he is folks, the cutest baby in the world! (And no, I am not biased :)!) He was born Monday May 16, 2011 at 2:58 p.m. weighing in at 7 lbs 15.8 oz. and measuring 20" long!

He is so handsome, just like his daddy! Everyone, starting with the nurses right after he was born, said that he looks just like Jadon. Neither of us could really see it though until I took this picture...

He definitely has Jadon's nose and chin and general face shape! So cute!

I think he is just absolutely adorable! This is him in his swing. He loves to put his hands up by his face for some odd reason.

The doctor asked me, as I was pushing, how much I thought he would weigh. I told her my guess was 7 lbs. 10 oz. and she and all of the nurses in the room laughed. They said there was no way a baby that big was coming out of me, especially because of how small I'd looked. They were all shocked at how big he was when they weighed him! The doctor thought he'd be around 6 1/2 lbs!

The delivery went well and mother and baby are doing really well! Daddy on the other hand could use some sleep...

Well, this is it...hopefully

Today is my very last doctor appointment before this baby comes...hopefully. It is the last appointment before my due date at least. I am beginning to think this baby is playing a trick on us. He keeps making me think he's coming and then changes his mind at the last minute. Tisk tisk little boy. Hopefully I get some good news at my visit today, and hopefully my next post will start with a picture of our little guy.

I am not nervous about having him, impatient is more like it. I am more nervous about the after he is born part. I want Jadon to hold him first because I'm afraid I'll drop him from being so exhausted. I want him to stay in our room the entire time. I am terrified of germs getting him. I am worried the hospital will give me grief about not getting his hearing tested (what's the point? We'll find out soon enough anyways). I don't want them to offer him a pacifier in the hospital. Basically I have a lot of opinions and I am nervous I won't have the energy to fight for them.

Really I am not that worried about it. Know why? Because I have the World's Best Husband!!! He is so sweet and caring and he does whatever it takes to make me happy and unstressed. This week for example I was having a very hard time because the doctor was sure I'd have the baby last weekend, so what does Jadon do? Devotes all of his spare time finding ways to cheer me up. He bought me Tangled! He made me brownies! He was always checking up on me from work. He let me cry my heart out as often as I needed (which was a LOT, and usually in the middle of the night).

I couldn't have asked for a better husband. I couldn't have even dreamed of a husband nearly as good as Jadon is. Together we'll get through this, even if I don't get good news today...
