Sitting and Rolling

Hooray for the Bumbo! He absolutely LOVES it! I had a feeling he would. I was lucky and caught a picture of him laughing. Usually he gets a straight face once he sees a camera. Here is my cutie patootie this morning. This is totally my new background for the computer!

Poor little guy was so sick all weekend and today was the first day he was really cheerful. There was no unnecessary crying. He did however go through more than 2 outfits before dinner because of how much he was spitting up. I am just glad he is my happy boy again and puts himself to sleep most of the time. And now that he has a bumbo he keeps himself pretty entertained! He loves his little ball that sings and rolls around on his own. Tonight he even rolled over from belly to back for the first time without any help! He usually gets stuck on his arm. He is growing up so fast and I am loving every minute of it (except for all of the crying this last weekend)!

Sleep!

I am the proud mother of an amazing baby boy who sleeps 8 to 12 hours at night! For a whole week now we have had such a good schedule and routine each day. He wakes up between 9 and 9:30, eats (7 oz. now!), plays until 10:30 then takes a nap until about 2, eats, plays, sleeps for an hour or so, eats, plays, sleeps for up to an hour, eats, plays, has dad time, then goes to sleep between 10 and midnight! He doesn't take many naps, or very long ones (only the first nap is long because I let him take a nap on my bed with me, which he loves), but he is so much fun to spend all that time with.

This morning I was not going to take a nap, so I layed him in his bed thinking he would fall asleep on his own like he usually does, but no. He knew that it was nap time with mom, so he cried until Jadon brought in to our bed, and fell right to sleep as soon as I held his hand. He likes his schedules and doesn't like when they change.

Two mornings ago I woke up to the weirdest noise over the monitor, only to discover that it was Tavius crying, but he had lost his voice! It is such a sad sound! He still hasn't gotten it back, so he doesn't cry or talk if he can help it. I did call his doctor yesterday to see what she thought I should do and she recommended a humidifier. I had one going in his room last night which seemed to help. His voice wasn't as bad this morning, but it got worse again from not spending the rest of the day in his room with it going.

We are blessing him on August 14th, which is two days before his 3 month birthday. I'm considering making a cake! My mom is making him an adorable little blessing outfit and Jadon's mom crocheted a beautiful blanket for the occassion. We are so excited for family and friends to come out and see our little bundle of joy!

Whoops! Sad little squeaky crying in the background! That is my cue to go!

Tummy Time

So we bought this awesome tummy time toy hoping that Tavius would start enjoying tummy time and it works! Sort of. He stays happier for a little bit longer than just being on the floor, or with a rolled up blanket under his chest. It is cute because when he moves or uses his arms or legs it makes him spin. He usually only spins on accident because he is frustrated.

Aww. Isn't he cute?

At his 2 month appointment his doctor said he is the size of an average 4 month old. She also said he is a 4 month old developmentally as well, except for his neck control which is at a 2 month old. And he is teething, although it will probably be a couple of months before he actually gets a tooth.

All in all he is doing great and loves our new house! He loves to play in his room and look at his blue walls! He is just too cute!

2 Months Old

Why is it that pregnancy seemed to last forever, and these last two months have just flown by? I would rather it was the other way around.

My little man is getting so BIG! He is very talkative these days and is usually so happy as well, now that we've found the right kind of formula for him. The only downside is that he is a morning person and I definitely am not! He wakes up to eat sometime between 4 and 6 usually and is just so cheerful and so wide awake. But every once in a while if I lay him in bed next to me after he eats he will go back to sleep.

A few mornings ago I woke up to him at 5 a.m. He was just in his crib cooing and laughing, at what I have no idea, but it was adorable. After about 30 minutes of that I couldn't fall back asleep so I got up and played with him until he was ready to eat.

He looks more and more like his daddy every day. My brother came into town this week and saw Tavius for the first time. When he was holding Tave he turned to me and said, "are you sure he's your son? He doesn't look anything like you." Yes, he is my son. He may not have inherited any of my genes, but I am definitely the one who grew him.

He is such a happy baby. He finally likes to play with the toys on his toy bar and he still loves trying to eat his giraffe. It is so cute to see him becoming a little person.

Sorry the quality isn't great, I took this video on my phone, but here is a cute video of him talking.
