Apron

Okay, so my sister got married way back in June, and I had been working on this apron for her as a bridal shower gift. Unfortunately, between having a baby and trying to close on our house, it has been unfinished until tonight. I spent the last 4 1/2 hours finishing it, and I am extremely happy to say that it is done and beautiful! Also, it is the first ever project that I have used my dress form for (I got it for Christmas, so exciting!), which means I just HAD to take pictures and I just HAD to show them off.

It criss-crosses in the back and buttons to the waistband. Seems like a lot of work to put on, but it is an adorable oldies pattern if you ask me.

My dad would be very proud of that bow I tied. He was always tying our bows for us on Sundays before church (okay, fine, he also re-tied them during church a few times, seeing as we never sat still).

Now I can give it to her...at her baby shower. I don't think it'll fit her pregnant belly though, what with the buttoning it on and all...hmmm.

7 Months

I missed taking Tavius to his 6 month appointment, so at 7 1/2 months he was 29 inches long and weighed 17.38 lbs. I can't remember the head circumference because they usually tell me in centimeters and this time they told me in inches. He has dropped in percentiles and they want me to take him in for a weight check in a month because he has only gained a couple of pounds since his 4 month check up.

He did so good getting his shots! I was more nervous about them than he was sad after the fact. He cried for less than a minute and he didn't get sick afterwards! I was prepared to have a sick baby for a few days like usual, but he was fine other than a little fussier than normal and a bit warmer than usual. I gave him Tylenol for 2 days when he seemed like he needed it and that was it. We have such a strong boy!

While we were in Oklahoma he ended up laying on my bed by me most of the time, and he got used to sleeping on my pillow with me. He also loved using my blankie. Now he won't sleep without a pillow and a blankie! It is very cute to see him use a blankie when he is going to sleep because he will pull it up to his chin and then sneak his arm out to flatten it! He is so stinkin' cute!

Christmas, New Years, and all of December

So I'm pretty sure I win the lamest mom award. I didn't take a single picture on Christmas. Tavius looked adorable in his santa suit though. Jadon got a picture on his phone that I will have to upload later.

Tavius is growing up so fast. He is such a good crawler and he loves climbing over things. He pulls himself standing up with everything. He walks along the furniture, tries to help with the laundry and dishes, and I absolutely love how he just wanders about the house playing with everything he finds. I am really good at keeping anything I don't want him to get out of reach, so no worries there.

He says "Mama" all the time...when he is tired, sad, playing, and when he is looking for me. I am constantly trying to get him to copy me and say "Dada" or "Bath", (he says "baba" when he sees his bottle). Yesterday morning when I caught him putting his fingers in the plug outlet I said "no, no, no" as I rushed over to put covers in the outlets and he said "no"! Of all the things to copy me on! Sheesh! He is still super cute though, in spite of his stubbornness, which is something I think he got from his daddy, and his daddy thinks he got from me. I guess we'll never agree on that one.

If you look closely in this picture you can see his hair. I love that he is finally getting hair, so I put it in a little faux-hawk and it looked adorable, but it made him look older.

Oklahoma

Tavius and I spent 2 weeks in Oklahoma with my sister's family. We had a blast! Tavius loved playing with his cousins, and I think it is safe to say they loved playing with him. They were so creative coming up with ways to play with him, or help him when he cried. He had so much fun playing with so many new toys, too.

It was so much fun being there and visiting! Tavius had so much fun, but I know he was so excited to see his daddy when he picked us up in the airport.
